Ceramic Gold Leaf Pod

Seedpods were the inspiration for this piece. Leaves have been rolled onto the surface of the clay leaving behind a skeletal imprint, almost like the fossilized wing of a dragonfly. Some leaves have been highlighted with 24ct gold leaf.

The pod is approximately 15cm in length x 12cm at widest point and constructed from white earthenware clay and fired to 1120 degrees Celcius.
